Professional Section on Diesel Generators (Preventive Maintenance)

Diesel generator sets are the preferred choice for backup and emergency power systems worldwide, providing reliable electricity for high-demand applications such as data centers, power plants, hospitals, and large commercial and industrial facilities. The dependability of backup power directly impacts the stability of electricity supply, data security, and normal operation of critical user systems. We remain steadfastly committed to ensuring the safety and reliability of backup power for major systems, delivering 100% peace of mind to our customers!

Although standby generator sets are not frequently used, they must operate reliably during emergencies. Maintenance is critical for standby generators for the following reasons:

① Standby generator sets must remain in a state of readiness for immediate startup at all times;

② Standby generators must be ready to handle load at any time.

Implementing preventive maintenance provides the following assurances:

① Prevents system paralysis after power outages, avoiding immeasurable losses for users;

② Extends the service life of standby generators while maintaining optimal output power;

③ Avoids costly repairs due to component failure.

★Diesel Generator Sets (Load Testing)

Per backup power maintenance regulations, diesel generator sets must undergo load testing for 60 to 120 minutes annually. During new generator set commissioning, routine maintenance inspections, or post-overhaul checks, this testing effectively verifies whether performance metrics—such as output power and load-bearing capacity—meet specifications. It prevents long-term operation under no load or extremely low loads (below 10%), which can cause severe carbon buildup and compromise unit performance. Concurrently, it monitors critical systems like cooling and lubrication oil pressure for proper functioning.

During load testing (using either dummy or actual loads), record all parameters of the diesel generator set at different power levels (above 50% load). Pay close attention to whether voltage, current, and frequency remain within normal ranges. Inspect for any air, water, or oil leaks. Assess whether the generator set's operational sounds and exhaust smoke color are normal.

★ Diesel Generator Sets (Basic Maintenance)

Our company adheres to the specifications outlined in each generator set's Operation and Maintenance Manual to perform maintenance on corresponding components of equipment that has been in service for a certain period. This includes cleaning, inspection, and replacement of wear-prone parts that have exceeded their service life. These measures ensure the normal performance of our customers' generator sets, reduce generator failure rates, and enhance the reliability of backup power supply.
